Professor Cruz teaches classes in medical sociology, science and technology studies (STS), sociological theory, and qualitative methods.

She has mentored a wide range of undergraduate and graduate students in conducting independent social science research. Several mentees have since pursued post-graduate opportunities at UC Los Angeles, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, UC Berkeley, and University of Southern California.
